Spring Cleaning Donation Drive: Leadership Columbia County & Goodwill Team Up to Benefit Local Nonprofits

Augusta, Georgia–This spring, as we sift through our homes for the annual clean-out, Leadership Columbia County Class of 2024 (LCC 24), in collaboration with Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA, invites you to make your spring cleaning count for more. On March 28, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Goodwill Store on 3145 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA, we’re hosting a Spring Cleaning Donation Drive, where your unused clothing, household goods, and furniture can make a significant difference.

Donating to Goodwill doesn’t just declutter your home; it offers tangible support to our neighbors striving to find employment or job training resources. The sale of donated goods in Goodwill’s retail stores fuels the creation of job opportunities for those in our community who need them most, fostering a stronger, more supportive environment for all of us.

Ehrin Fairey, a proud member of LCC 24 and the event’s organizer, shares our excitement, “Collaborating with Goodwill of Middle Georgia on this donation drive empowers us to provide essential goods and services to our community. It’s about more than just cleaning out our homes; it’s about lifting each other up.”

In an exciting twist, Goodwill has pledged to donate $250 in retail store vouchers for each donation bin filled during the event. These vouchers will be distributed through LCCC 24 to Hope House and the Burn Foundation of America, directly benefiting individuals and families in need. This initiative not only supports those selected by our partner charities but also reinforces the cycle of giving within our community.

Rev. Toney Cross, Senior Manager of Missions at Goodwill, emphasizes the impact of such events, “Donation drives are crucial to our mission of transforming lives. We’re thankful for the generosity of our community and our partnership with Leadership Columbia County. Together, we’re making a difference.”

For more details on the Spring Cleaning Donation Drive, please reach out to Ehrin Fairey at ehrin.fairey@southeastern.company. To learn about hosting your own donation drive or volunteering opportunities, contact Toney Cross at tcross@goodwillworks.org.

Let’s come together this spring to support our community in a meaningful way. Your donations not only give your unused items a second life but also offer hope and support to those in need. Join us in making this event a success!
