Goodwill Donation Centers Now Accepting Food and Gently Used Goods to Help Local Families

Middle Georgia and the CSRA — This holiday season, Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA is making it easier for neighbors across our 35-county region to help families facing food insecurity. Through partnerships with Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and Golden Harvest Food Bank, all Goodwill donation centers in Middle Georgia and the CSRA are now accepting nonperishable food items.

Community members can drop off food alongside their gently used goods—making Goodwill a one-stop location for giving back this season.

All donated food will be distributed locally by the regional food banks to help families in need, while donated goods support Goodwill’s mission of building lives, families, and communities one career at a time through education, skills training, and career services.

“We know that many families are struggling to put food on the table this time of year,” said James K. Stiff, President of Goodwill of Middle Georgia and the CSRA. “By partnering with Middle Georgia Community Food Bank and Golden Harvest Food Bank, we can make it easier for our communities to meet immediate needs while continuing our long-term work, helping people gain the skills and confidence to build stable, self-sustaining careers.”

Donors can bring most-needed nonperishable food items such as canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans), vegetables, rice, pasta, peanut butter, and cereal to any Goodwill donation center in Middle Georgia or the CSRA. Food and goods will be collected throughout the holiday season and distributed by our partner food banks to local families.

“We’re deeply grateful for Goodwill’s support. Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without the community’s involvement,” said Kathy McCollum, President and CEO, Middle Georgia Community Food Bank. “The need right now is extraordinary.”

“Every food donation collected through this partnership will go directly to families right here in the CSRA,” added Amy Breitmann, President and CEO, Golden Harvest Food Bank. “We’re proud to partner with Goodwill in our shared mission to end hunger and strengthen families.”

Those in need can find local resources and food pantry listings at mgcfb.org (Middle Georgia) and GoldenHarvest.org (CSRA).

Goodwill’s retail training stores, Good Vocations, Helms College, and Edgar’s Hospitality Group work together to help people discover and develop their God-given gifts. Every donation and every purchase supports scholarships, skills training, and hands-on education that empower individuals to earn paychecks, support their families, and strengthen our local economy.
