Goodwill to Host Christmas Gala at Anderson Conference Center

Proceeds from annual event support scholarships at Helms College

The 15th Annual Goodwill Christmas Gala is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Conference Center in Macon. The evening is an elegant, black tie optional affair presented by SBG Wealth Management, Inc. Proceeds will support Goodwill and Helms College in their work to lift more lives in Middle Georgia by creating educational opportunities and career pathways out of poverty.

In addition to live entertainment by renowned regional dance band The Free, guests will enjoy an amazing menu curated and prepared by chefs and students from the Polly Long Denton School of Hospitality at Helms College.

“As part of our experiential learning model, our culinary students get to stretch and showcase their skills at the Goodwill Gala,” said James Stiff, President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia, which established Helms College. “This festive event provides supporters of Goodwill and Helms College a chance to see and taste the difference their support is making in the lives of students.”

A new element of the Gala this year is a “Text to Give” initiative, enabling donors to contribute to Goodwill and Helms College through the convenience of their mobile phones. Donors can text 19Gala to 44321 to support scholarships at Helms College, an accredited career college with programs in HVAC training, culinary arts and health services with a campus on Eisenhower Parkway and a budding downtown Macon campus.

“It’s a busy time of year, and we know not everyone can attend the gala,” Stiff explained. “As people are making their plans for end-of-year giving, we’re hoping they’ll consider Goodwill and find the text-to-give program a convenient way to help Goodwill and Helms College to lift more people onto career pathways out of poverty.”

In addition to SBG Wealth Management, Inc., Platinum Level sponsor is Veritiv and Silver Level sponsors include Archadeck of Central Georgia, DHG, Hays Service, Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Moonhanger Group, Rebuilding Macon, Roll Haulers, Snelling Properties, LLP, Sysco Food Services, The Ritz-Carlton Reynolds, Lake Oconee.

Text 19Gala to 44321 and please visit for more giving options all year long.
